How to Update Records in Bulk in a Database

Updating records in bulk in Databases allows you to apply changes in batches quickly and in a controlled way, ensuring data consistency.

1st Step: Accessing the Databases Module

In the upper left side menu, click “Databases” to open the list of databases.

Select the desired database to view its records.

2nd Step: Applying Filters to Select Records

  1. Click the “Filter” button represented by the funnel icon in the upper right corner of the “Databases” bar.
  2. In the “Filter” modal, configure:
  • Field: select “Name”, “Owner”, or any custom field.
  • Operator: choose between “Equal”, “Not Equal”, “Contains”, “Does Not Contain”, etc.
  • Value: enter the comparison criteria.

    1. Click “Apply Filter” to display only the records that match the criteria.

3rd Step: Starting Bulk Update

With the records filtered, click the “Bulk Update” button represented by the copy icon, located in the header next to the “Clear Filter” and “Bulk Delete” buttons.

4th Step: Configuring Fields to Update

In the “Bulk Update” modal, define:

  1.  Field: select “Name”, “Owner”, or any custom field.
  2. Value: enter the new value that will be applied to all selected records.
  3. (Optional) Click “+ Add” to configure multiple fields.

5th Step: Executing the Update

  1. After configuring all Field–Value pairs, click “Save”.
  2. A notification will be displayed in the lower left corner indicating that the records were successfully updated.

Best Practices:

  • Test with a small batch before applying changes to many records.
  • Review filter criteria to avoid modifying unintended records.
  • Document significant changes in changelogs or internal notes.
