How to Create a Task

Creating tasks in the system allows you to organize activities, define deadlines and priorities, and keep tracking centralized, either through the Tasks module or directly within a card.

1st Step: Accessing the Tasks Module

In the upper left side menu, click “Tasks” to open the tasks area.

At the top, you will find two view tabs:

  • List: displays tasks paginated in a list format.
  • Calendar: shows the same tasks in a calendar format, allowing monthly visualization.

In both views, the “New Task” button remains in the upper left corner. This is where you create any task.

2nd Step: Creating a Task

  1. Click the “New Task” button in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. In the creation modal that appears, fill in:
  • Title: short and descriptive name of the task.
  • Description (optional): details or instructions.
  • Start Date: select the date when the work will begin.
  • End Date: define the deadline for completion.
  • Priority: choose between “Low”, “Medium”, or “High”.
  • Status: select “Open”, “In Progress”, or “Completed”.

    1. Click “Save Task” to create the task.

Note: In addition to these statuses, there is also “Overdue”, which indicates tasks whose deadline has expired without completion.

3rd Step: Creating a Task from a Card

  1. In the “Pipelines” or “Cards” tab, locate the desired card.
  2. Open the card by clicking on it and select the “Tasks” tab located at the top of the modal window.
  3. Click “New Task” in the upper right corner of the panel.
  4. Fill in the fields “Title”, “Description”, “Start Date”, “End Date”, “Priority”, and “Status”.
  5. Click “Create Task” to link the task to the card.

Best Practices:

  • Use clear and concise titles for quick identification.
  • Define realistic start and end dates based on the expected effort.
  • Set priorities correctly: use “High” for critical tasks and “Low” for minor ones.
  • Keep the status updated to reflect actual progress (“In Progress” or “Completed”).
  • Link each task to the correct card to ensure proper tracking and traceability.

Conclusion:

You have learned how to create tasks through the Tasks module or directly from Cards, defining dates, priority, status, and handling overdue tasks. If you have any questions, contact our support team.
